OUR HISTORY
We are a family run business which started life in 1974 as a haulage and commercial repair company. Using our experience and knowledge we built a successful and highly regarded business. In 1979 we developed the business further by diversifying into self storage and container hire and can now offer new and used shipping containers for sale and hire throughout Cornwall and Devon at very competitive rates.
OUR CONTAINERS
We pride ourselves in being able to offer a friendly and reliable service to all our customers. Our aim is to create high levels of customer satisfaction by providing our customers with a low cost solution to all their storage problems. Our containers are wind and watertight, clean and secure. We have in various sizes in stock for all your business and domestic storage requirements.
USING OUR CONTAINERS
Commercial use – Ideal for businesses or tradesmen looking to store documents. stock, tools or equipment.
Domestic use – whether you are moving house, decorating or self building – store your personal effects with us either short or long term.
SECURITY
For extra security most of our containers come complete with a lock box and when used in conjunction with a CISA lock the boxes are extremely secure. Where not already fitted, lock boxes can be fitted to any box (at extra cost) at the customer’s request.
CONDENSATION CONTROL
Condensation can be caused from storing damp or wet goods inside the container as well as temperature fluctuations outside the container and it is more likely to occur when the container is sat directly on cold, damp ground. It appears mainly on the roof interior and top six inches of the interior side-walls. In order to correct this, the shipping container needs good ventilation and can be dehumidified. If you have any questions regarding condensation issues please contact us, as we have a number of solutions.
SPECIAL BUILDS
We also supply purpose-built or modified containers for an array of applications, such as offices, changing rooms and chemical stores. We are more than happy to assist with any enquiry you have.
HIGH SECURITY LOCKS
The containers are built from high tensile steel and are designed to be very strong and secure. To improve security further we use heavy duty CISA locks which are made from hardened steel and are tamper proof when used in conjunction with our lockbox.
LONG OR SHORT TERM LETS
We have no minimum or maximum time limits on the hire of our containers, however we do ask for 14 days notice, where appropriate, when off hiring.
We’ve been storing at Tamar Valley Transport for several years; always easy to get a hold of and helpful if you ever need anything.
